You will recall that when
John McCain picked Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential running- mate that, for the first few days, the media didn't know what to say about her because they didn't have the political and governmental history on her that they did on the other Republican presidential candidates.
We were surprised that John McCain didn't select one of the other presidential candidates that were "more conservative" to "balance the ticket."
After
Sarah Palin was interviewed by news anchor Katie Courac on the CBS Nightly News the media was relentless and merciless in their coverage of her campaign efforts on behalf of John McCain.
The media was criticising her answers to obscure questions, repeating over and over that she "Did not have enough experience to be Vice President of the United States." Considering that she has been Governor of Alaska you would think that this would indicate that she had a certain amount of political intelligence and ability as she had managed several political campaigns to gain the attention of national Republican Party officials.
By the time of the vice presidential debates though
Sarah Palin had endured all of the editorial abuse with courage and class and was acknowledged to have verbally dueled with Joseph Biden to a draw.
