Last night at an Obama rally in Detroit, Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, who had previously endorsed Senator Clinton, took to the stage to show her solidarity with Barack Obama now that the voters (or the party insiders as the case may be) have handed him the nomination. But Granholm, like Team McCain, still seems to hold Senator Clinton in high esteem--she tried to praise the former first lady as a "great American."
She couldn't even get the words out before the crowd turned on her and began booing. Here's the tape, watch it for yourself. We just want to assure Senator Clinton's supporters that their attendance at McCain rallies will be warmly recieved, by Senator McCain and his supporters. Of course, if Senator Clinton wants to show up to any of our events in person...consider this an open invitation.
I put this on the Clintons4McCain board Mad - thanks.
If the "winning" side are acting like sore losers, why on earth should Hillary's supporters join them? I gotta say, I truly think the Obama camp makes a MAJOR mistake underestimating the Hillary folks they summarily (and obnoxiously) dismissed...
Our governor is not someone that I am proud of. She takes alot of credit for the jobs that come to Michigan, (that have brought maybe 1-2 thousand jobs), but accepts no responsibility for the loss of thousands and thousands of our jobs. I hope that Dick DeVos is looking forward to the next election. I hear the mayor of Flint is going to run! PLEASE! He can't even keep Flint safe. I sure don't want him as our governor. Devos for Govenor!
The Republican party needs to address the fuel crisis. They also need to come up with a plan to plant tariffs on the companies who take their work out of this country but bring the products back here to sell. KEEP OUR JOBS IN THE U.S.A. We can not afford to have Obama in the White House. His plan to raise taxes is NOT the way to bring this nation out of the recession/depression that we are in.
One more thing and then I will get off of the soap box.
Marriage =1 man + 1 woman! God is not going to let our nation
stand if we continue to allow the liberal judges to speak for us and don't fight back. Let your voice be heard and remember we need your VOTE in November! McCain For President!
I wrote a commentary about this movement as well on youdecide2008, and posted on my McCainocrat blog. This movement by Hillary supporters is the best news the McCain camp has had lately. Here are some statistics from the commentary:
"Being the curious person I am – yes, curiosity may have killed the cat, but at least he knew what he died of – I did the math. Exit polls have indicated that up to 29% of Hillary supporters have said they would vote for McCain, depending on whose exit polls you’re looking at. While I personally think that figure may be high, if you consider that over 18 million people voted for Hillary it would only take around 5% of those voters to constitute a million votes for McCain. JFK won the 1960 election by only 100,000 votes. Hmm, that got my attention and made it very easy to see why the McCain camp would pursue the issue. This is the stuff victories are made of, just as it was in the 1980 election. According to the Washington Post, “Twenty-six percent of Democrats crossed party lines to vote for Reagan in 1980 after a bruising fight for the Democratic nomination between President Jimmy Carter and Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) — a battle that lasted all the way to the convention. “
This commentator’s conclusion is that while Hillary and Obama were similar in their views on the issues, they were not similar in their values, experience for the job, or ideals. That match up more closely relates to Hillary and McCain, and therein will lay the choice for these Democrats in exile. We all know the stock market runs on emotion, and I have long said so does a Presidential election. Hillary supporters who voted for her because of her stand on the issues will probably continue to support the Democratic Party and Barack Obama. But those that supported Hillary based on character, experience, and emotion may well slide across the aisle to John McCain, and if the exit polls on the subject are any indication, we may very well see a replay of the 1980 elections.
Don’t discount a “movement” in America - it’s the very thing they attribute Obama’s success to."
I think the more support we give this group the more support the group will gain from the sector itself. We should be supporting their sites and welcoming them with open arms. I do my best to do just that.
